The history of Barceló rums begins in 1929, when 25-year-old Julián Barceló left his native Spain, came to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and founded Barceló & Co.
His ambition is to create the best rum in the world. Success does not come immediately, but after years of experimentation, Barceló Blanco and Dorado are introduced to the market, gaining international recognition. Today, Barceló rum is available in over 50 countries around the world, and the Dominican producer is the fourth largest exporter of rum in the world.
Barceló Añejo rum is a blend of Dominican rums, matured in American bourbon barrels. In its bouquet we can find accents of candy, chocolate, fruit, dried cherries, pepper and tobacco leaves.
