Product description
Appleton Estate is the oldest and most renowned sugar cane plantation in Jamaica, dating back to 1655 when the lands were granted to Frances Dickinson for his contribution to the conquest of Jamaica.
The estate, along with the plantation and rum distillery, passed into the hands of J. Wray & Nephew Ltd. in the early 20th century. In the case of Appleton Estate rums, distilled in traditional copper stills, the same rules for indicating the age of the drink were adopted as in the case of Scotch whisky - the age of the youngest ingredient in the blend appears on the label. The rum matures there in oak barrels after American bourbon.
Appleton Estate Signature Blend was previously sold as V/X. It is a blend of rums matured in small oak barrels, and after blending it is bottled back into standard-sized barrels. Its bouquet offers spicy and peppery accents, some plant and grassy notes, plus buttery toffee, vanilla, chili, a bit of candy.
