Soberano brandy is produced in Jerez by the González Byass bodega.
The company was founded in 1835 by Manuel Maria González Angel, who was soon joined by his British sales agent Robert Blake Byass. The Byass family sold their shares in the company to the González family in 1998, making it the sole owner. González Byass brandies have been produced since 1844 in the heart of Jerez. Soberano is one of the most widely available Spanish brandies and a great introduction to the diverse González Byass range. It is column distilled from 100% Airén grapes from the La Mancha region. This Solera Brandy is aged in American oak barrels in the solera system for a minimum of 12 months and bottled at 36% abv.
Aroma: brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, coffee beans, burnt bread crust, traces of raisins and roasted nuts.
Taste: slightly alcoholic, sugar syrup, toffee, sugared peanuts, coffee, a bit of anise and cinnamon.
Finish: medium long, sweet, with notes of burnt sugar, roasted nuts and mulled wine spice.
