Martin Doorly & Co was founded in 1908 and soon changed its name to Doorly Macaw Rum.
To this day, Doorly's rum labels feature a parrot (macaw is macaw in English). The rum is made at the Foursquare distillery in Barbados, under the watchful eye of the incomparable master distiller Richard Seale.
Doorly's Aged 3 Years is a blend of column and traditional still distilled spirits. It matured for 3 years in oak barrels from American whiskey. Before bottling, it was filtered to remove the color that was acquired during maturation, which is undesirable in some rum-based cocktails. In its bouquet, we will find accents of pineapple and other exotic fruits, coconut, a bit of vanilla, a touch of lemon.
