Product description
The original Hayman Distillers Company was founded in 1820. In 1863 the company was purchased by Beefeater gin creator James Burrough and remained in the hands of the Burrough/Hayman families for over 120 years.
Shortly after its acquisition by Whitebread Spirits Group in November 1988, Christopher Hayman (son of Marjorie Burrough and Neville Hayman and then a director of the company) managed to buy back the family brand and began producing gin under the Hayman Distillers Co banner. His son and daughter, James and Miranda Hayman, now hold key positions at the company. Over the years, they have developed a rich range based on the family formula, which includes juniper berries, coriander seed, angelica and orris root, lemon and orange peel, cinnamon, cassia bark, liquorice and nutmeg. Hayman's Sloe Gin debuted in 2009 as a "sloe" version of Hayman's London Dry. The sloes are picked after the first frost and macerated in London Dry gin for several months. Sloe Gin was considered a digestive in England, and its attractiveness has also been highlighted by mixologists.
Hayman's Sloe Gin has a pleasant, bittersweet taste, where plums, cherries and blackberries perfectly balance the notes of juniper, nutmeg and a touch of bitter almond. We recommend serving it with sparkling wine, another option could be Fever Tree Citrus Tonic.
