In 2014, the assets of the Loch Lomond Distillery Company (Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia distilleries.
The Glen Caterine Bonded Warehouse bottling plant and several brands were transferred to the new Loch Lomond Group, established with financial support from the private equity group Exponent. Almost immediately, a new, attractively packaged commercial offer appeared. Loch Lomond Original debuted a year later, a young single malt , a good introduction to the company's extensive portfolio. The whisky comes from bourbon barrels and is bottled without an age statement, with an alcohol content of 40%.
Nose : light, malty-floral, lavender, honey, vanilla, breakfast cereals, lemongrass, traces of leather and oak.
Taste : malty, slightly spirituous, wholemeal, green apples, baked plantains, walnuts, notes of pepper and ginger.
Finish: not too long, malty, with notes of nuts, hay and citrus peel.
