Product description
Springbank is an unusual distillery by today's standards, the only one in Scotland where the entire production process, from malting to bottling, takes place under one roof.
Despite the ever-increasing demand for whisky, Springbank is only using 20% of its already modest potential, producing around 150,000 litres of distillate per year, which is both surprising and disappointing to Campbeltown single malt lovers. The 15-year-old edition presented here dates back to the 1980s and is now a highly collectible.
Nose: rich, fruity, bananas, pineapples, coconuts, passion fruit, honey, vanilla, Christmas gingerbread, traces of pipe tobacco and delicate mineral notes.
Palate : rich and complex, slightly oily, tropical fruit salad, baked apples, candied orange peel, vanilla, honey, a bit of licorice, traces of peat leather.
Finish: long and rich, oranges, bananas, notes of licorice and white pepper, and in the background delicate peat tones.
