Product description
Argument Kastanj is an experimental take on Swedish whiskey that showcases the distillery’s distinctive approach to aging. The whiskey first spends some time in bourbon barrels, and then heads into the final stretch, where it encounters much rarer chestnut wood barrels. It is these that give the wine its extra depth, spiciness, and more pronounced structure.
The following notes come to the forefront in the aroma: dried fruit, raisins, and red berries. A subtle hint of smoke appears in the background, adding complexity to the composition without overpowering its fruity character.
A deeper sweetness develops on the palate honey and vanilla, complemented by a distinct woody note. Chestnut barrels add more tannins and a distinctive dryness, which helps keep the sweetness well-balanced.
Kastanj's argument captures the philosophy of Agitator well—instead of sticking to conventional methods, the Swedish distillery experiments with production techniques and unusual types of barrels. The horse chestnut tree has even become one of the brand's signature design elements.
