Goalong Liquor Company was founded in 2011 and initially focused on importing alcoholic beverages—including whiskey, brandy, rum, and gin—into the Chinese market.
Two years later, she was already distilling on her own.In 2018, the new Goalong Distillery, based in Liuyang, Hunan Province, began operations as China's first commercial whiskey distillery.The distillery produces single malt, blended malt, and blended whiskey.The former is distilled from barley malt imported from Australia and aged primarily in bourbon barrels.Unfortunately, we don't know much about the grain whiskey used in blending.
Aroma: slightly alcoholic, roasted beans, vanilla, brown sugar, flaxseed, oak chips, and light grassy notes.
Flavor: cereal, sugar cookies, vanilla, cotton candy, a hint of kitchen spices, traces of pine and oak needles.
Finish: not very long, with notes of oatmeal, vanilla, hard candy, a pinch of white pepper, and oak.
