Product description

It comes from Irpinia—the lofty, green hills at the heart of Campania—where Terredora Di Paolo has been operating since the mid-1970s.consistently restores local strains to their former glory. The modern winery is located in Montefusco, and the family-run producer (whose lineage traces back to the famous Mastroberardino clan) was one of the driving forces behind the region’s winemaking “renaissance”.In 1994, after the family estate was divided among the brothers, Walter Mastroberardino founded Terredora, retaining some of the best plots and focusing on single-varietal wines such as Falanghina, Greco, and Aglianico.Today, the vineyards stretch across Irpinia’s vast, privately-owned vineyards, where cooler, mountainous nights and volcanic-clay soils produce wines with crystalline acidity and a distinct mineral character.

An interesting fact about Terredora is that almost the entire process—from grape to bottle—remains in the family’s hands; this is a rarity in Campania on this scale and one of the reasons why their style remains so consistent from vintage to vintage.Falanghina itself holds a special status here: it is a grape variety with Greco-Roman origins that, in Irpinia, takes on a serious character and mineral depth while retaining a juicy, citrusy-tropical expression.

The 2024 Terredora Falanghina Campania IGT is made from 100% Falanghina grapes and ferments in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to preserve its freshness and aroma, and is not aged in oak—hence its clean, lively profile. The producer describes the wine's style as straw-yellow with greenish highlights, intensely fruity (apple, pineapple, citrus), and very crisp thanks to its lively acidity.

Appearance: straw-colored with light green highlights, clear and bright.

Aroma: juicy green apple and pineapple accented with lime; in the background, fresh herbs, a delicate floral note, and a hint of wet stone characteristic of Irpinia.

Taste: light to medium-bodied, crisp, with clean, citrusy acidity; the fruit core (apple, lime) gives way to a subtle, almond-like bitterness on the finish; the finish is long and mineral.

Food pairings: perfect for Mediterranean cuisine—spaghetti alle vongole, grilled sea bream or sea bass, salads with citrus dressing; great with buffalo mozzarella and fresh cheeses, and even with a simple pizza bianca.
