Product description
Trinité Estate and Acaibo Wine is a story about the meeting of two worlds: the centuries-old tradition of Bordeaux and the untamed spirit of Sonoma, California.Behind the project are Claire Villars-Lurton and Gonzague Lurton, representatives of the fourth generation of Bordeaux winemakers, associated with such prestigious estates as Château Ferrière, Château Durfort-Vivens, and Château Haut-Bages Libéral. In 2012, the couple decided to relocate part of their lives to California to create a wine that combines the precision and elegance of Bordeaux with the natural potential of the Sonoma terroir..
Their estate is located in the Chalk Hills, in a unique spot where three famous valleys meet: the Russian River, Alexander Valley, and Knights Valley. The vineyards are located at an elevation of about 250 meters, on clay-loam soils with a volcanic subsoil.A climate with significant temperature differences between day and night is ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, which develops depth and character here.
The farming philosophy at Trinité Estate is based on respect for nature and the balance of the ecosystem. The entire farm is managed organically, using mulch and cover crops, and irrigation is kept to a minimum—it usually takes place only once or twice a year, using only water from two retention ponds. The entire process is supported by state-of-the-art sensors that monitor sap flow in the vines, allowing for a precise response to the vines' needs.Importantly, only fruit from the estate’s own vineyards is used in the production of Acaibo.
The name “Acaibo” originates from the language of the local Pomo tribe."Aca" means water and fish, while "ibo" means three. This symbolism refers to the owners' three children, the family's three Bordeaux châteaux, and the three classic Bordeaux grape varieties included in the blend. So it's no wonder that three fish have become the symbol of wine.
Hospitality is just as important here as the wine itself.Visitors can enjoy intimate walks through the vineyard and private tastings, both at the Chalk Hill estate and in the elegant tasting room in nearby Healdsburg.
Appearance: A deep ruby-purple color with dense tears on the glass.
Aroma: An intense bouquet of black currant, blackberry, and leather, with notes of cinnamon, licorice, dark chocolate, and subtle oak.
Taste: Elegant, full-bodied, and well-balanced, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral finish.
Food Pairings: It pairs perfectly with grilled beef and lamb, braised venison, mushroom risotto, and hard, aged cheeses.
