Product description
Gin Mombasa Club is a reminiscence of the glory years of the British Empire during the reign of Queen Victoria. In the 80s.
In the 1890s, a group of British officers were stationed in the strategic Kenyan port of Mombasa. They formed an officers' club, where they exchanged opinions while sipping gin and tonic. Mombasa Club Colonel's Reserve is a limited edition dedicated to its founders, who include Colonel Alfred Astley Pearson, Colonel JH Patterson and Consul General John Kirk. The gin is distilled in small batches at London's Thames Distillery. After the third distillation, the botanicals are macerated for 48 hours, after which the whole thing is distilled for a fourth time in a 500-litre copper still. The gin is shipped to Spain, bottled there, and distributed by Unesdi Distribuciones SA. We don't know the full list of ingredients, but they certainly include juniper berries, cumin and coriander seeds, cassia bark, cloves, and angelica root. In 2015, Mombasa Club Colonel's Reserve won a double gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Brussels.
Mombasa Club Colonel's Reserve is a classic London Dry gin with aromas of juniper, pine needles, coriander, cloves and cumin. The taste is similar, with the addition of delicate notes of vanilla and licorice. We recommend serving with Fever Tree Indian tonic with the addition of a quarter of an apple or orange zest.
