Eagle Rare 10-letni Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey / 45% / 0,7l + szklanka
- Eagle Rare bourbon was introduced by the Canadian drink giant, Seagram in the 1970s probably as a direct competition to Wild Turkey (they both have American birds in their brand name and logo).
Product description
Eagle Rare is considered one of the last bourbons created before the era of Small Batch bourbons.
Initially, it was created at the Old Prentice distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, which at that time belonged to Seagram. Charles L. Beam (nephew of the famous Jim Beam) started working there in 1962, and after 6 years he took over as Master Distiller. He was entrusted with the task of creating a luxurious and excellent whiskey - this is how a bourbon with a low rye content was created, matured in new, heavily charred barrels (alligator char).
History
Charles wanted his whisky to mature for at least ten years, so that it could definitely stand out from the competition. The achieved alcohol content (50.5%) allowed the brand to be advertised in the late 70s as the only 10-year-old Bourbon with such a high alcohol content. It is part of a larger family, which includes versions 17 YO, 20 YO, 25 YO.
Winner of dozens of awards in the most prestigious international competitions around the world. To this day, it is the only Bourbon to have won the Double Gold Medal at the world San Francisco Spirits Competition 5 times.
