The original Michter's Distillery operated in Shaefferstown, Pennsylvania from 1753 to 1989 and produced bourbon and rye whiskey.
This is where the famous AH Hirsch Bourbon came from, and today it is one of the most collectible American whiskeys. The Michter's brand returned to the market with the new century, this time as an offering from Joe Magliocco's Chatham Imports. In 2015, a new Michter's Distillery opened in Shively, a suburb of Louisville. The Michter's US* 1 Small Batch Bourbon (batch no. L15C309) presented here is a spirit with classic characteristics of the genre. The company does not disclose any information about its place of origin, formula or age.
Nose: typical bourbon, vanilla, caramel, apricots, peaches, cinnamon, nutmeg and delicate oak tones.
Palate: quite sweet, honey, vanilla, caramel, baked apples, some cinnamon and cloves, a dash of pepper and toasted oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of caramel, honey, cinnamon and a pinch of pepper.
