Old Pulteney Port Coastal Series / 46% / 0.7l

With global annual sales in excess of 700,000 bottles, Old Pulteney is the category leader in single malt whisky within the Inver House Distillers portfolio.

In the fall of 2022, Pulteney Distillery announced the launch of the “Coastal Series,” with Pineau des Charentes at the forefront. The series is to consist of four releases, and is being created in partnership with spirits producers based near the coast, who supply the casks for the finishing of the Old Pulteney single malt. The second release of the series was released in early fall 2023, featuring a whisky aged in second-fill bourbon barrels and finished in port pipe and barrique casks. The casks came from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal.

Nose: sweet, vanilla, toffee, marzipan, sultanas, black cherries, orange jam, a drop of cassis, candied ginger and a trace of cloves.

Palate: raisins and sultanas, strawberries, cherries, orange peel, vanilla, salted caramel, dark chocolate, hazelnuts, cinnamon, cloves and oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of red berries, vanilla, chocolate-covered nuts, a touch of cinnamon and sea breeze in the background.
