Product description
Wild Side is a somewhat mysterious whiskey "distilled and aged at Clear Spring Distillery in Louisville".
Our search for the Clear Spring distillery did not yield the expected results, but we did find information that between 1900 and 1919, James B. Beam and two partners from Chicago owned a company of the same name. The company produced Old Tub, Pebbleford, and Clear Springs whiskeys. The brand is currently owned by the Sazerac Company of New Orleans. The latter owns two distilleries in Kentucky, Buffalo Trace and 1792 Barton, and also owns several hundred so-called whiskey brands. However, we cannot determine which (or which) Kentucky distilleries are behind the Wild Side brand.
Nose: grilled corn on the cob, vanilla, honey, brown sugar, coconut flakes, a hint of cinnamon and toasted oak.
Palate: slightly alcoholic, popcorn, burnt sugar, vanilla, honey cereal, coconut, milk fudge and oak.
Finish: not too long, delicate, with notes of vanilla, caramel, cornflakes, white pepper and oak.
