In 2016, the year of its 10th anniversary, Kavalan Distillery completed its investment.
Which increased the number of stills to 20 and the distillation capacity to almost 10 million liters of alcohol per year, which places it in the top ten largest malt distilleries in the world. The single malt Kavalan debuted in 2008 and achieved incredible success, winning around 200 medals and awards to date. The Kavalan ex-Bourbon Oak presented here joined the basic offer in the fall of 2015. The whisky comes from the same barrels used in the Solist editions, but is diluted with local water to 46% alcohol. A year after its debut, Kavalan ex-Bourbon Oak won a gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge.
Nose : pronounced bourbon elements, vanilla, caramel, coconut flakes, apples, bananas, candied ginger, a touch of cinnamon and hay.
Palate : rich and sweet, vanilla, honey, caramel, ripe grapes, baked apples, orange peel, banana cake and toasted oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, honey, white pepper, nutmeg and oak.
