Product description
Four Pillars is an Australian producer of fine gins based in the Yarra Valley, near Melbourne.
The company was founded in 2013 by Stuart Gregor, Cameron Mackenzie and Matt Jones. The four pillars of the company are: copper stills made by the German company Carl; water from the Yarra Valley naturally filtered through eucalyptus groves and dense forest undergrowth; botanicals and… a little bit of love, or love for the profession. Cameron Mackenzie, who after a 15-year career in the wine sector discovered his calling as a distiller, oversees the distillation. The development of the Olive Leaf gin formula took about five years, and the inspiration was a visit to the producer of high-quality olive oil, Victoria's Cobram Estate, during the olive harvest. The gin formula includes: juniper berries, coriander, orris root, lavender, lemon myrtle, grapefruit, rosemary, bay leaf and dried olive leaf, macadamia nuts and three types of olive oil. Four Pillars Olive Leaf gin has won more than a dozen prestigious awards, including gold medals at the 2020-2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Four Pillars Olive Leaf Gin is an extremely interesting proposition. The drink combines the sweetness of tropical fruits (mainly mango and grapefruit) with notes of homemade pastries, vanilla, juniper, pine needles and rosemary. We recommend serving with premium tonic and a sprig of rosemary or in a classic Martini, with an obligatory olive.
