Product description
Basil Hayden's is one of four bourbons that make up Jim Beam's original "Small-batch Collection."
The whiskey is named after one of Kentucky’s first distillers (known to his friends as Old Grand Dad), who developed a high-rye mash formula. In the new century, the Basil Hayden brand was expanded to include specialty whiskeys (Dark Rye and Two by Two Rye). The Basil Hayden Toast presented here meets the definition of a “straight bourbon,” although its formula deviates from the established standards for this type of whiskey—63% corn, 27% brown rice, and 10% malted barley. After a basic maturation of at least 4 years, the whiskey is finished in toasted barrels. Basil Hayden Toast debuted in August 2021 as part of the core offering.
