Product description
Rémy Martin is one of the few cognac houses founded by a native of the region – Rémy Martin, a winegrower, first produced cognac under his own name in 1724.
Today, almost all Rémy Martin cognacs are labeled "Fine Champagne," which means they are blended from eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne regions, with at least 50 percent of the former. Rémy Martin VSOP debuted in 1927 and was an immediate success. To this day, it is the best-selling VSOP cognac in the world. It is a blend of over 200 eaux-de-vie (55 percent of which are from the Grande Champagne region) aged for 4 to 12 years in Limousin oak barrels.
Nose : fruity with pleasant oak notes, figs, apples, apricots, raisins, toffee, vanilla, cloves, some tobacco and leather.
Palate : initially sweet, soon becoming slightly spicy, crème brûlée, milk chocolate, raisins, dried figs, roasted nuts, pepper, licorice, oak and a pinch of salt.
Finish : quite long, with notes of raisins, salted nuts, allspice, leather and oak.
