Product description
Bain's Single Grain is produced by the James Sedgwick Distillery based in Wellington, South Africa.
This is probably the only whisky distilled 100% from African yellow corn. After the great success of Bain's Cape Mountain, the company has offered several editions in the premium segment. The Bain's Special Release presented here is a whisky subjected to a rather complicated maturation system - for the first three years, the whisky is aged in first-fill bourbon barrels, after which it is transferred to fresh bourbon barrels for another two years. After this period, it is poured into third- and fourth-fill bourbon barrels, where it remains for another decade. James Sedgwick Distillery was founded in 1886 and is currently part of the Distell Group, the majority stake of which was purchased by Heineken in the fall of 2022.
