Scallywag Small Batch 10-year-old Sherry Cask Matured + Collapsible Cup / 46%/ 0.7l

In 2018, Douglas Laing & Co., one of the most respected whisky publishers, celebrated its 70th birthday (the company was founded in 1948 by Fred Douglas Laing).

The anniversary was marked by a number of limited editions of whiskies. Scallywag, made from single malts from the Speyside region, debuted in 2013. Its formula includes such regional giants as Macallan, Mortlach and Glenrothes. While the standard version is made from malts aged in sherry and bourbon casks and bottled without an age statement, the anniversary edition presented here uses only whiskies aged in sherry casks for at least 10 years. 4,500 bottles were released.

Nose : sweet, fruity, toffee, honey, brown sugar, cappuccino, pralines, apricots, ripe apples, notes of cinnamon and oak.

Palate: pleasant sherry notes, cherries, apricots, sultanas, milk chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and a pinch of black pepper.

Finish: quite long, with notes of vanilla, honey, cinnamon, cloves, cocoa powder and oak.
