Product description
Glen Scotia is one of only three distilleries representing the Campbeltown region, once known as ‘Whiskypolis’, which was home to over 30 distilleries and 20 malthouses.
Since 1999, the plant has belonged to Loch Lomond Distillers, which was taken over by Exponent Capital Group in 2014. The next three years brought a lot of investment in both the distillery itself and the Glen Scotia brand, culminating in the sale of Loch Lomond Group to Hillside Management in 2019. Glen Scotia 25 years old debuted in 2017 at the Campbeltown Festival. The whisky, aged in white American oak barrels, finished for a year in first-fill bourbon barrels and was bottled at 48.8% abv and without chill filtration. The edition presented here is from 2021.
