Product description
Strathisla Distillery has been producing whisky since 1786, making it the oldest distillery in Northern Scotland.
Since 1950, the distillery has been owned by Chivas Bros. and distills mainly for Chivas blends (annual production is around 2.4 million liters). Strathisla is a key component of Chivas Regal and Royal Salute and it does not seem that the owners are interested in promoting their single malt more widely. Gordon & MacPhail has been much more effective in this respect, offering Strathisla for years in the Distillery Labels series. The 1967 Vintage edition presented here consists of whisky matured in sherry butts and bottled at 43% abv in 2012. A few years later (2016), Strathisla 1967 Vintage won a gold medal at the International Spirit Challenge.
