Product description
Hwayo is likely the only Korean whisky brand. The brand was created by Kwang Juyo, the company specializing in high-end ceramic craftmanship and renowned for its fine Korean tableware.
In 2005 Kwang Juyo launched its premium line of soju, Korean national alcoholic beverage, giving birth to Hwayo brand. Its name is a combination of two words: “Hwa” (fire) and Yo (a noble object) and by assembling these two symbols the whisky honors more than 700 years of tradition of distilling soju. Hwayo X. whisky is distilled from organic rice in copper pot still and aged in American white oak barrels for five years, then finished in ongi (traditional Korean ceramic vessel) for six months; it was first released in January 2013.
