It is common knowledge that the Samuels family, founders of Maker's Mark Distillery, have had close ties to horse racing in Kentucky for years.

Since 1997, the distillery has sponsored the Maker's Mark Mile Stakes (now Maker's 46 Mile Stakes) held at Keenland Equestrian Track in Lexington, and has released a special edition of the bourbon. Equally collectible overseas are the Makers Mark editions dedicated to MLB (Master League Baseball) teams, with wax in the colors of the teams. The edition presented here is dedicated to the Boston Red Sox, the winner of the World Series Championship in 2018. The Red Sox have been around since 1901 (originally called the Boston Red Stockings) and have won the World Series nine times. The team is owned by Fenway Sports Group, which also owns Liverpool FC.

Palate : sweet, vanilla, milkshake, honey, cocoa powder, peaches, raisins, roasted nuts, notes of tobacco and oak.
