Product description
Laphroaig is the most popular single malt from Islay, with sales of 4 million bottles per year (2019).
The distillery produces its own malt, although its own malting house covers only 15% of demand, with the remaining 85% supplied by Port Ellen Maltings. The grain malted on site has a phenol concentration of up to 60 ppm, while malted in Port Ellen it ranges from 35 to 45 ppm. Laphroaig 10 years old Cask Strength debuted in 1995, blended from distillates aged in American oak barrels, and remains a favourite among whisky lovers to this day. Since 2009, it has been released in limited batches, the so-called batches. The edition presented here, no. 013, hit the market in January 2021; the whisky was bottled at 57.9% abv.
