Product description
In early March 2021, the next, 17th edition of BenRiacha Single Cask was released. The barrels were selected by the blending master Dr. Rachel Barrie.
This time, Ms. Barrie chose 19 barrels, of which the first 11 were intended for the countries of the old continent (these were barrels from Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry, port, rum, Marsala, Moscatel, Madeira and the so-called virgin oak), while the rest went to the markets of Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. The youngest in the European offer were 11-year-old whiskies (there were five of them), the oldest being 23-year-old Virgin Wood Barrel. The BenRiach Peated presented here, distilled on 5 March 2009, spent 11 years in a hogshead Madeira barrel (no. 1642), the contents of which translated into 318 bottles of cask strength whisky (60.6% abv). They were distributed in Andorra, Portugal and Poland. (Producer's tasting note.)
