Auchroisk 9-year-old (D.2011, B.2020) Hepburn's Choice / 46%/ 0.7l

Hepburn's Choice is a line of whiskies from the Hunter Laing & Company portfolio, with editions signed by Langside Distillers, its subsidiary.

The series is a nod to William Hepburn, the Laing brothers’ maternal grandfather, a diplomat and whisky connoisseur. In September 2020, Hunter Laing changed the graphic design of the series, reserving a specific color for the region from which the release comes. The Auchroisk presented here, distilled in 2011, was aged in refill barrels, then finished in two wine barrels. In 2020, their content translated into 809 bottles. Hepburn's Choice editions come mostly from single barrels and are bottled at 46% abv, without chill filtration and with a natural color.

Aroma: barley malt, sweet bread, vanilla, apples, red berries, roasted peanuts, a pinch of pepper and cinnamon.

Palate : vanilla, sweet breakfast cereals, toffee apples, cherries, nectarines, chocolate biscuits, notes of pepper and oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of sweet bread, apples, berries, toffee, vanilla and oak.
