Product description
Fettercairn Distillery was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay. Since 1973, it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay, whose assets were acquired in 2014 by Filipino brandy producer Emperador Inc.
The plant uses a unique distillation technique - during the collection of the middle fraction, the neck of the still is cooled by water, which increases the contact of the vapors with the copper and, as a result, a more delicate distillate. The Fettercairn presented here is a proposal of Hunter Laing & Co. in the Hepburn's Choice series - a 12-year-old whisky distilled in 2008, aged in two bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% alcohol and without cold filtration in an edition of 678 bottles.
