Product description
The Duke Munich Dry gin, as you might guess, is produced in Munich. Its name refers to Henry the Lion of the Guelph dynasty, Duke of Bavaria and founder of Munich in 1158.
The gin is the brainchild of two distillers, Maximilian Schauerte and Daniel Schönecker, who built a small distillery in Munich in 2008 to make it happen. Duke’s formula lists 13 organic botanicals, the most important of which are juniper berries, lavender, ginger root, coriander, angelica, orange blossoms, lemon peel, cubeb pepper and local hops. These are macerated, then mixed with base spirit and distilled in a copper still.
The Duke Munich Dry Gin releases aromas of juniper, eucalyptus, citrus, coriander, pine needles and a hint of lavender; similar elements are shared across the palette with juniper and citrus notes coming to the fore. This organic gin is great with standard Schweppes tonic and Fever Tree Indian Tonic.
