Product description
Deanston is a medium-sized distillery with a capacity of 3 million litres of alcohol per year. It began operating in 1966 in a former cotton mill.
The company says the metre-thick walls of the maturing warehouse create the perfect conditions for ageing whisky, regardless of the season. Deanston is the backbone of the Scottish Leader blend, which sells more than 6 million bottles a year, and in recent years the popularity of the local single malt has been growing. The Deanston shown here, distilled in June 1994, spent a quarter of a century in a refilled hogshead cask no. DL 14182. Bottled at cask strength (51.6% abv) and without chill filtration by Douglas Laing & Co. in the Old Particular series in May 2020 in an edition of 224 bottles.
