Product description
Glenalmond Blended Malt was one of the first whiskies to be launched by Vintage Malt Whisky Company Ltd, founded in 1992 by Brian Crook, previously a director of Morrison Bowmore Distillers.
Today, its so-called brand portfolio includes Finlaggan, Ileach, Islay Storm and the Cooper's Choice series. We don't know much about the Glenalmond formula, except that it is "made from several carefully selected single malts aged in bourbon and sherry casks". We assume that the name of the whisky refers to the Almond River, which is abundant in trout, the image of which adorns the label.
Aroma: simple yet pleasant, sweet breakfast cereals, vanilla, caramel, a bit of honey, cinnamon and a pinch of white pepper.
Palate: fruity, plums, peaches, vanilla pudding, sugar-roasted almonds, cinnamon and a hint of oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, brown sugar, student blend and delicate oak bitterness.
