Old Pulteney 10-year-old Travel Retail / 40% / 1.0l

In October 2018, Pulteney Distillery introduced three new whiskies to its Travel Retail range – 10 years old, 16 years old and 2006 Vintage.

The 10-year-old has been aged in second-fill bourbon casks and bottled at 40% abv. Pulteney Distillery was founded in 1826 in the northern Highlands town of Wick. Its name is a nod to Sir William Pulteney, who established Wick as a model fishing port in 1810. Owned by Inver House Distillers since 1995, the distillery has a single-pair still capable of producing 1.8 million litres of spirit per year.

Aroma : fruity-sweet, vanilla cream, honey, toffee, apples, pears, bananas, lemon jam and a pinch of spices.

Taste: fruity with a pleasant spiciness, honeyed breakfast cereals, vanilla, toffee, apples, gooseberries, cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg and a light breath of sea breeze.

Finish: quite long, with notes of vanilla, salted caramel, toffee, a pinch of sea salt and a subtle bitterness of oak.
