Finlaggan Islay Single Malt was introduced in the mid 1990s by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company based in Glasgow.
The company was founded by Industry veteran Brian Crook and over years developed interesting portfolio of whisky brands including The Ileach, Black Cuillin, Glenalmond and Cooper’s Choice range, to name a few. The company does not reveal, which Islay distillery supplies whisky for the brand, many believe there is more than one. Finlaggan Red Wine Cask Matured was added to the range in 2019; the whisky was aged in red wine hogsheads sourced from the Rioja region in Spain and bottled without chill-filtration at 46% abv. Only 7000 bottles were produced.
