Cody Road Rye Whiskey is a product of Mississippi River Distilling Company founded by two brothers Ryan and Garrett Burchett in Le Claire, Iowa in 2010.
The microdistillery produces bourbon, rye whiskey, vodka and gin. Cody Road Rye was introduced in 2012, a limited run of 5 batches, and scored very good reviews. It is a 100% rye whiskey distilled from grain grown within 25 miles from the distillery and aged in small 30-gallon barrels. The whiskey pays tribute to legendary William “Buffalo Bill” Cody, who was born in Le Claire in 1846. During his life he was regarded as a regular purveyor of whiskey and apparently rye whiskey was his spirit of choice.
