In late spring 2018, Inver House Distillers launched a new Old Pulteney Distillery range (the previous year, the 17 and 21 year old versions had disappeared due to stock shortages).

The new range includes 12, 15 and 18 year old whiskies, as well as Huddart bottled without an age statement. The 25 year old version, which was part of the core range, is maintained as a limited edition. The Old Pulteney 15 year old presented here is made from distillates aged in fresh bourbon barrels and refilled American oak barrels and finished for several months in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. Pulteney Distillery is equipped with one pair of stills and produces 1.6 million litres of distillate per year.

Nose : perfectly balanced, apple pie sprinkled with cinnamon, sultanas, dried apricots, vanilla, honey, milk chocolate, salty pretzels and a hint of hay.

Taste: Christmas fruitcake, toffee, milk chocolate, honey, pineapples, a bit of cinnamon and cloves, salty breeze and a delicate bitterness of oak.

Finish: long and quite spicy, with notes of cinnamon, white pepper, vanilla, milk chocolate and a pinch of salt.
