Product description
In late spring 2018, Inver House Distillers launched a new Old Pulteney Distillery range (the previous year, the 17 and 21 year old versions had disappeared due to stock shortages).
The new range includes 12-, 15- and 18-year-old whiskies, as well as an age-unstated Huddart. The latter is named after the street where the distillery buildings stand, and was named after Captain Joseph Huddart, the hydrographer for the British Fisheries Association that built Pulteneytown and its fishing port. Old Pulteney Huddart is made from spirits aged in first- and second-fill bourbon barrels and finished in barrels that previously matured heavily peated whiskies.
Nose: a pleasant combination of campfire smoke and polished leather, honey, vanilla, caramel, baked apples and a hint of sea breeze.
Taste: pleasantly balanced, vanilla, salted caramel, apples, banana cake, a pinch of white pepper and gusts of peat smoke and salty breeze.
Finish: medium long, sweet and salty, with notes of malt, vanilla, honey and peat smoke.
