Product description
Murray McDavid is an independent bottler and distributor of Scotch whisky, based at the Coleburn Distillery in Speyside.
Founded in 1986 by Mark Reynier, among others, it contributed to the reactivation and market success of the Bruichladdich distillery. In addition to bottling single malt and single grain whiskey, the company also prepares blended malt and blended whiskeys. It has been actively present on the Polish market since 2016.
Rìgh Seumas I (pronounced rej szejmes), a blended malt whiskey, is a tribute to Jim McEwan, the creator of the blend of malt whiskeys that constitute the core of this drink. Rìgh Seumas is Gaelic for "King James," which is Jim McEwan. This whiskey consists of six malt distillates. Its heart is Bruichladdich, a whiskey from the distillery owned by Murray McDavid when this blend was first created. In addition to it, the composition of Rìgh Seumas I includes whisky from Arran, Auchentoshan, Tobermory and Rhosdhu malt distillate from the Loch Lomond distillery. This blend of distillates matured in barrique barrels after red French wine. At a later stage, after years of maturation, the whole was enriched with young Caol Ila malt whisky from the Isle of Islay. For the final stage of maturation, the whisky was poured into first-fill bourbon barrels.
