Product description
Glen Scotia, built in 1832, is today one of three distilleries that make up the Campbeltown region.
Throughout the 20th century, the distillery lived in the shadow of its neighbor Springbank and experienced many production interruptions. In 1994, its owner was the Loch Lomond Group, whose assets were in turn taken over by the Eksponent capital group in 2014. It was only the latter that made the much-needed investments and increased production from 150,000 to 550,000 liters of distillate per year, of which about 10% is a smoky-peaty distillate. The Glen Scotia 18 year old presented here debuted in the fall of 2017. The whisky spent 17 years in bourbon barrels and an additional year in Oloroso sherry barrels.
