Product description
Osmoz gin was introduced in 2015 by Laurent and Elodie Vallet, the 6th generation of vine growers and cognac producers.
Augustin Vallet established the vineyard and founded Château de Montifaud in 1837. The original vineyard of just three hectares has grown up to 130 hectares by 2019. The idea of producing gin was conceived during the Vallets trip to Germany; they wanted to create gin with aromas common to the family cognacs with juniper notes in the background. The base for Osmoz Classic gin is a grape spirit and its formula includes nine botanicals – juniper berries, citrus peels, cloves, coriander, cucumber, lime leaf, nutmeg, orange and saffron. They are distilled in classic copper pot still. Originally the Vallets wanted to develop one single gin, but they had their own preferences, and finally decided on two: Osmoz Classic was created by Laurent, while Osmoz Citrus by Elodie.
Osmoz Classic gin has aromas of juniper, coriander, fresh herbs, and hints of citrus. On the palate combination of juniper and citrus with delicate notes of coriander and cucumber. The producer recommends serving it with classic premium tonic garnished with a wedge of lime and five juniper berries.
