Rum Nation is an independent bottler specializing in research, selection, maturation and bottling.
The company was founded in 1999 by Fabio Rossi, who previously stood behind the independent whisky bottler, Wilson & Morgan. Rums bottled by Rum Nation are primarily representatives of the individual countries in which they are made, and Fabio Rossi himself admits that he approaches their selection somewhat… touristically. The labels even feature a motif of postage stamps from individual countries.
Rum Nation Barbados is a classic English style rum made in Barbados. It is a blend of molasses based distillates from pot stills and rectification columns. The rum spent around 9 years in American bourbon oak barrels. Finally, it was transferred to Spanish brandy barrels for 12-18 months.
Aroma: Black tea, aromatic herbs, mint, ripe fruits, a hint of wine.
Palate: Light and smooth, yet complex. Notes of tea, orange blossom, mint, raisins, spices and oak tannins.
Finish: Clean, with spicy and wine notes.
