Product description
Pulteney located in the town of Wick used to be the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland (in 2013 the honor went to Wolfburn Distillery).
When Inver House took over operations in 1995 almost immediately started marketing Old Pulteney brand as ‘The Maritime Malt’. It turned out to be an excellent move bringing the Old Pulteney brand into top 20 best selling single malts. The Navigator expression was created as “homage to the nautical navigators, the planners of every sea voyage, who advise the captain of the ship’s position and maintain charts and navigational equipment on the board”. It is a mixture of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks selected by the distillery manager Malcolm Waring. Navigator was introduced in the fall of 2014.
