Product description
Yamazakura is a blended whisky produced by Sasanokawa Shuzo, an alcoholic beverages producer, established in 1765.
Most of the company revenue comes from sake and shōchu trade but its product range includes several whisky brands. The name Yamazakura translates from Japanese to Mountain (Yama) of Cherry Trees (sakura). The formula of blended whisky presented here remains a secret; we have heard however that it consists of four single malts and single grain whisky. Where have these whiskies been sourced from is unclear but we know that the company uses Scottish malts for their own blends, what is perfectly legal in Japan. In 2015 Sasanokawa Shuzo built its own malt distillery, Asaka.

Palate: slightly spirity, breakfast cereals, vanilla, brown sugar, butter cookies, pepper and oak shavings.
Finish: not too long with notes of vanilla, pepper, green peppers and oak.
