Laphroaig is the most popular Islay malt in the new Century selling over 3.5 million bottles annually, almost as many as its two biggest competitors, Bowmore and Lagavulin combined.
The 1815 Legacy is the latest addition to the distillery portfolio, introduced in April 2017 as Travel Retail exclusive. It was created by the distillery manager John Campbell to honor Laphroaig’s whisky making legacy over the past two centuries. The whisky has been matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and finished in new European oak hogsheads and bottled at 48% abv.
