Product description
In June 2016, the American corporation Brown-Forman acquired the assets of BenRiach Distillery Company for £281 million.
The first release under the new owners was BenRiach Peated Quarter Casks, a whisky distilled from peated malt, aged exclusively in quarter casks and bottled without chill filtration. In a statement from the distillery, we read: “the use of small-capacity casks (125 litres) speeds up the maturation process; our new whisky combines elements of smoke and peat with the sweetness of pears and peaches, making it completely unique.”
Aroma: fruity and peaty, peaches, pears, grapes, a bit of cinnamon, traces of damp gravel, hay and delicate herbal tones.
Taste: delicate, candied lemon peel, peaches, pears, nectarines, vanilla, walnuts, a pinch of white pepper and lots of peat smoke.
Finish: medium long, peat smoke, cigar ash and sweet breakfast cereal.
