Product description
Togouchi whisky is a product of Chugoku Jozo, a company based on the outskirts of Hiroshima. The company has been operating since 1918 and specializes in sake and shōchu; it added whisky to its offering in the early 1990s.
Chugoku does not distill whisky, it imports single malts from Scotland and single grain whisky from Canada, blends them on site and undergoes additional maturation. This is done in a 361 m long abandoned railway tunnel with ideal climatic conditions - temperature 15ºC and humidity 80%. Togouchi Kiwami is a delicate blend, whose components were aged for four to eight years. It was bottled for the French market, and the word "kiwami" refers to "premium" products in Japan.
Nose: very mild, cereals, vanilla, cooked apples, a pinch of pepper and traces of forest floor.
Palate: sweet cereals, oatmeal cookies, brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, white pepper, traces of hay and oak.
