Product description
Bulldog London Dry Gin debuted in 2006, the Chinese calendar Year of the Dog.
The brand is owned by Gruppo Campari, which has contracted Greenall's Distillery in Warrington to distill it, which is done in a copper still using wheat spirit. Bulldog's formula uses 12 botanicals sourced from eight countries and always harvested in the same regions to maintain consistency. Three of these are unique to the brand – lotus leaf, Turkish white poppy and longan (growing in Southeast Asia, somewhat similar to lychee); the other nine are juniper berries, cinnamon bark, coriander, lavender, liquorice, angelica, almonds, lemons and orris root. The gin is presented in a dark bottle, the bottom of which is shaped like a studded collar. In 2014, Bulldog London Dry Gin won a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
Bulldog is a floral-citrus gin with notes of juniper, pine needles, angelica, cardamom and cinnamon. It looks great in Dirty Martini and Tom Collins cocktails, and with a traditional Schweppes tonic garnished with a slice of blood orange.
