Product description
The history of the Stroh brand begins in 1832 in Klagenfurt, Austria. Boštijan Stroh, from whom the brand takes its name, began producing liqueurs and brandies.
Over time, the offer was expanded to include a product called Inländer-Rum (domestic rum). Due to the fact that Austria-Hungary had no access to the sea, and therefore no overseas colonies, instead of basing rum production on raw materials from sugar cane (molasses, juice), the Austrian producer achieved the taste of rum using a set of seasonings and dyes, and the alcohol itself was made from sugar beets. This product quickly gained popularity in the region, and is still eagerly served today, mainly as an addition to hot tea or an ingredient in punches. Currently, the situation has reversed - Stroh is made from molasses imported from the Caribbean, and the traditional taste and aroma are achieved by adding various types of essences.
Stroh 80 is one of the three basic versions of Austrian rum. Bottled at 80% ABV, it is an icon of Austrian spirits and is closely linked to the local culinary and confectionery tradition. Used in the preparation of cakes and desserts, as well as in more modern cocktails. It gives each product a characteristic and unique aroma.
