- Duncan Taylor & Co. was founded in Glasgow in 1938 as a cask broker and trading company.
Product description
Duncan Taylor & Co. is primarily a producer of whiskies, often released in luxury series such as Rarest of the Rare, Rare Auld or Tantalus.
The company was founded in 1938 in Glasgow and was a wholesaler of whisky. In the 1960s, it became the property of Abe Rosenberg, an American importer of J&B whisky. Since 2002, it has been owned by Euan Shand, who has expanded the range to include blended whisky, rums and gins. Indian Summer is an extraordinary gin. In its formula (authored by Euan Shand), alongside traditional ingredients such as juniper berries, angelica, licorice, coriander, orris root, cassia bark, almonds, lemon and orange peel, there is one of the most expensive spices in the world – saffron. It gives not only a characteristic aroma and taste, but also a slightly golden colour. In 2015, Indian Summer Saffron Infused Gin won a double gold medal at the World Spirit Competition in San Francisco. (Producer's note.)
